What is your rate for services if I bring my computer to you?

The value of our services goes beyond the right price. You get priceless peace of mind knowing that every service carries a "no non-sense" 90-day warranty, and a "no repair, no charge" policy.

We match any advertised and/or published labor rates and written repair estimates on comparable services from other local repair shops.

Our services start at $30 for most basic computer part replacements (hard drive, power supply, etc.) and $60/hr for all other carry-in (in our shop) services. Services normally don't exceed 2 hours ($120) with only a few repair exceptions that require up to 3 hours.

Fixed rate services:

  • Virus cleanup $90 - includes full hardware diagnostic, operating system optimization, and physical clean up (fans, keyboards*, screen*) *If applicable
    NOTE: Some virus infections can render the Operating System unrepairable and a re-install of the operating system would be required; rates below for  operating system installation apply instead.
  • Operating System installation - includes installation of latest updates and service packs, drivers, full hardware diagnostic, operating system optimization, and physical clean up. Add $30 for full data backup which includes virus cleanup of backed up data.
    • Windows XP $120
    • Windows Vista/7 $90
    • Linux (Ubuntu/Suse) $60
    • Mac OS 10.x $90
  • Data Transfer from old computer to new $60 - includes virus cleanup of data transferred.
    NOTE: most programs and applications cannot be transferred reliably and need to be installed on the new computer. Call for details.

Good faith estimate of rates for services and parts is given before any services are performed or parts replaced, subject to changes that require prior customer approval. In other words, no surprises at the end!

What is your rate for On-Site services?

Since we opened several years ago we have been providing expert services at the right price to minimize your downtime and get you up and running without requiring multiple visits for the same issue which is common with other service providers.

  • Every on-site service offers a "no non-sense" 90-day limited warranty, and an "on-site diagnostic only charge if no repair" policy (see related FAQ)
  • We match any advertised and/or published labor rates and written repair estimates on comparable services from other local repair shops or retail chains.
  • Our standard on-site rate is $80 for the first hour, then $30 per additional 1/2 hour.
  • On-site problem diagnostic or minor problem repair that require less than 30 minutes of service is $50.
  • For repairs that are estimated to take over 2.5 hours ($200) we recommend allowing us to take the computer to our shop to complete repairs or to enable remote support to complete the service remotely at a lower rate. If we pick up your equipment there will only be a $30 pickup/delivery charge and repairs will be billed at carry-in rates ($60/hr). If we enable remote support and complete repairs remotely you will ve billed at remote support rates ($30/half hr).

Q

Do you offer discounts or reward loyalty in any way?

Yes, we do. We value your loyalty and believe in honoring your choice for our services in several ways, including:

  • Discounts on labor rates based on the volume of services:
    • 50% off multiple services (lower priced services) on same unit in the same repair order. i.e. Windows Installation with data transfer will be 50% off the data transfer.
    • 20% off services on multiple units on repair requests within 90 days. i.e. we install Windows XP on your desktop, then within 90 days you bring your laptop for a virus clean up, you will receive a 20% off the virus clean up service ($90-20%=$72)
  • We also offer discounts based on the following:
    • 10% Students and teachers of a K-12 institution, university, or college. (must present ID)
    • 15% Senior citizen (65+) discount
    • 15% Military discounts in honor of your service in the armed forces

Discounts CAN be combined at our discretion and can be discontinued at any time. We often also offer additional discount on products such as software, upgrades, and more. Call us for details.

Could you explain your 90 day warranty on services?

Sure.

All our services, including carry-in and on-site services, have a 90 day limited labor warranty.

This 90 day limited labor warranty covers the original service provided on invoiced and paid services only. Warranty does not cover software issues caused by customer, intentionally or unintentionally, such as virus, spyware, adware, malware, corrupted software or drivers, or hardware issues such as failed attempt to perform a repair. Should a hardware failure require re-installation of the operating system or that the labor billed in this invoice be performed again (motherboard or hard drive failure) a 50% discount will be extended for labor within the 90 days equal to the labor warranty, and the discount will be applied to the full price of the service before any other additional discounts.
